Colby Fulton is a graphic designer, animator and advertising professional from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He is also the creator of Starfishman as well as many other stories, characters and creative projects.
Colby started his professional career in design in 1993. He worked at a prestigious Investor Relations company and created many logos, annual reports and multimedia slideshows for large publicly traded companies participating in the IPO (Initial Public Offering) market. He advanced his skills in design, animation and sequential storytelling during this time, while helping these companies raise billions of dollars in share value.
Colby then learned web design and continued to advance his skills in Photoshop and After Effects. He graduated from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and completed his grad project which was a movie trailer for a movie concept he created called Aftermath ". It combined 3D animation with hand drawn characters and will be developed further in the future potentially as a feature film or online web video series.
Colby's current occupation is in advertising. He has directed dozens of TV commercials for some of the largest companies in the world such as Miller Genuine Draft, Coors Light, Nutrl Vodka and White Spot Restaurants. He draws and designs comic books for Starfishman in his spare time.
Colby has several diplomas and degrees in Directing for Film, 3D Animation, Graphic Design and Fine Art. He has attended Vancouver Film School and the Emily Carr University. Colby has master level skills (over 25 years of professional experience) using Photoshop, After Effects and Maya 3D Animation software. He writes, storyboards, edits and creates the special effects for most of his productions.
